A keen golfer away from the office, Derek approaches the practice of law like he does the beautiful game, with deliberation and verve. Having the natural inclination towards business, Derek has made sure that the environment around the firm is conducive towards the lawyers and advocates performing at optimum levels which translates itself in supreme, bespoke customer service to the clients. Derek is also a member of the Rotary Club and is very passionate about its objectives.

Professional Expertise

Derek Ndonye is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, with over Twenty-six years (26) of specialized expertise in Corporate and Commercial law, and as a Certified Public Secretary he is qualified in corporate governance and he advises boards and senior management on corporate governance issues. He also guides and manages both the Board of Directors and shareholder meetings on behalf of our clients. He assists our clients by creating and reviewing their corporate charters, by-laws and board of governance policies.


He has conducted many legal audits to assess our client’s compliance with legal and regulatory frameworks to which they are subject. Derek is knowledgeable in the incorporation of FinTech companies and institutions and advises them on laws relating to digital lending, money remittance, and data protection and assists them in observing compliance with the existing laws relevant to the FinTech practice area including the Banking Act, the National payment systems Act and the Central bank of Kenya.


He is an accomplished researcher on Legal issues and he has participated in the creation of various legislation emanating from the Kenyan Constitution. Ndonye is also a Commissioner for Oaths, Notary Public and Certified Public Secretary. He is a Member of the Law Society of Kenya (LSK), East Africa Law Society (EALS), International Commission of Jurists (ICJ), Institute of Certified Secretaries Kenya (ICPSK) and the Kenya Institute of Management (KIM).
