A Bit About Me
Martha Karua indirectly inspired Peris to pursue law because she grew up during a time when the media was besotted by her and termed her ‘The Iron Lady’, a moniker that intrigues Peris to date. But she has found that she derives infinitely more pleasure from practicing the law and helping others than she ever imagined.
Peris, MNM Advocate
"I want to be part of taking the law into the new generation."
Peris is a natural-born facilitator by her own words who loves to facilitate the process of two parties reaching an amicable resolution to an issue via mediation.
Peris is currently pursuing property law emphasizing her passion for intellectual property, copyright trademarks and utility models and patent law. She is a big fan of creative output and the law that governs the uniqueness of art and property based on a potential client’s perspective. She garners fulfillment from seeing clients registering brands, art and copyrights for their various properties.
Peris sees her future on the bench in the judiciary as a judge and an authority in her chosen field. She sees it as a way of giving back to the community and being the go-to judge for intellectual law matters and setting precedent in the field that will echo through the ages.
As one of the young lawyers at the firm, Peris is part of the multiple cultural and modern changes sweeping through the firm and is firmly at the forefront of innovation and new ideas that characterize MNM.
Peris tells a story of being gifted a pen by her father when she passed her primary school exams who then went on to declare that she would write her first judgment using it.
Meticulous and organized to a fault, Peris keeps up a rigorous exercise regimen that involves daily morning runs come rain or shine. An avid hiker and coffee drinker, Peris also goes for spin classes and is a self-confessed voracious reader whose favorite author is Napoleon Hill.
